Farm Expo returns to MeadowView Convention center in Kingsport. Families love this three-day event. Nominations are now being accepted for the Eighth Annual Outstanding Farmer of the Year Award, which will be presented to a deserving individual at the 17th Annual Kingsport Times-News and Johnson City Press Farm Expo, to be held January 17-19, 2014 at MeadowView Convention Center, Kingsport, TN.. Lawson Building Supply, Inc../Kubota will make this award possible by providing $1,000, a Kubota jacket and an engraved plaque to the winner. The award will be presented to an individual to recognize exemplary efforts in agriculture, as well as a "heart" for farming. It will be given in association with the Cooperative Extension programs of Tennessee-Virginia, and agricultural agencies in Northeast Tennessee-Southwest Virginia. The nominee may be nominated by an agricultural agency or individual from the counties of Lee, Scott, Wise, Russell, and Washington in Virginia, and Hawkins, Sullivan, Washington, Carter, Unicoi, Johnson and Greene in Tennessee. The deadline for completed nominations is November 15, 2013.
